The Promises of Greed & Bigger Barns
Rich: Investing According to Jesus (Week 1)
Series Description: Today, Warren begins a series about what it means to be “rich”. Jesus has a lot to say about money and about what it means to be “rich” — or better yet, he tells us toward whom we should be rich. (Spoiler Alert: It’s God.) Jesus seems to talk about money in terms of investing, encouraging us to "lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.” So what if we asked ourselves a simple question: What am I investing in?
Today’s Summary: In Luke 12, Jesus tells a story about the fragility and empty promises of greed. This story has much to say to us as we think about our money, our stuff and what we attach to those things or seek from those things.
Scriptures: Luke 12:13-34, I Timothy 6:17-19
